Batch Archive Extraction from One Desktop Interface
Smart Archive Extractor simplifies working with many compressed files. Select the source folder, choose where the extracted files should go, and process supported archives together rather than opening them individually.
This is a beta release for evaluation and feedback. Read the interactive guide before downloading. The ZIP package contains the Windows installer and an offline copy of the HTML guide.
Main Features
| Feature | What it provides |
|---|---|
| Batch extraction | Process multiple archives and optionally scan source subfolders. |
| Archive formats | Recognizes ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, CAB, and ISO; extraction support depends on the available 7-Zip engine. |
| Output organization | Use one flat folder, preserve internal paths, or create a separate folder for each archive. |
| Password handling | Try without a password first, then use passwords supplied by the user. |
| Duplicate handling | Rename conflicting output files instead of overwriting them. |
| Progress and reporting | View progress, success and failure counts, an activity log, and a text extraction report. |
| Reusable tasks | Save and load extraction settings in JSON task files. |
| Interface options | Choose Black, Blue, or White themes and open the output folder directly. |
Quick Start
- Download and unzip the package, then run the Windows installer.
- Ensure the required 7-Zip extraction engine is available.
- Select the source and output folders, then choose the output organization.
- Add passwords if required, start extraction, and review the files and extraction report.
Beta Notes
Test with copies of important archives and verify the extracted contents. If passwords are included in a saved task, they are stored as unencrypted text in that JSON file; keep such task files private.
